East Regionals 2019

Get ready for the East Regional Championship on September 14th in Lancaster, PA! Whether you're trying to make a name for yourself as one of the top teams in the region or simply looking for a fun day of roundnet, this is the event for you.
 
We'll have multiple divisions to suit every type of player. We'll have snacks, drinks, prizes and activities to keep you busy throughout the entire day. The morning will consist of pool play to determine seeding and the elimination tournament will start in the afternoon. Check out more information below!
 

We have updated the Official Rules for the 2019 season! The biggest change is the double fault rule on all serves. Check out rule #4.5.2 for further details.

To be eligible to play in East Regionals at least one member of the team must meet one of the following criteria:

  • A permanent resident of a state in the region
  • Enrolled and physically attending a college in the region
  • Maintained residency in the region for a majority of the calendar year
  • Currently maintaining residency in the region for a period of at least ninety days preceding the event

  • $50: First day special only

Divisions

Premier
This is the only "invite only" division. Check out qualification requirements and eligible players list here.
Advanced
Think you're the best? Prove it. This division will include some top teams from across the country as well as newer players who want to test their skills against great competition.
Intermediate
If you are newer or still honing your skills this is the division for you. This division will play by all of the official rules and is intended for people who want competition but are still developing their game.
Women's Advanced
Women are welcome to play in any division. This division will include some top women's teams as well as other lady ballers who want to test their skills against great competition.
Women's Intermediate
Women are welcome to play in any division. If you are a newer lady baller or still honing your skills, this is the division for you.
Youth
With high school clubs popping up all over the country, we are super excited to have a youth division! Players must be 18 or under on the day of the tournament.

*A division must have 8 teams registered to be held. If there are not 8 teams when registration closes, teams may choose to change to a different division or receive a refund. If both women's divisions do not have 8 teams registered then they will be combined.

4:00pm - 6:00pm: Meet-up and play at Kissel Hill Elementary School
 
Saturday
8:45am - 9:30am: All teams arrive to check-in and warm-up
9:45am: Opening announcements
10:00am - 12:00pm: Pool play
12:00pm - 12:30pm: Lunch break
12:30pm - 5:00pm: Bracket play
7:00pm: After Party at TBD

Format

Check-in
The morning of the tournament, check-in will be from 8:45am - 9:30am. Only one teammate is required to check-in but both players must be at the tournament site by 9:30am.
Pool Play
Pool play will consist of all teams playing every other team in their pool once. Pools will be made by the SRA staff with the intention of having even pools based on rankings and past tournament results.
Bracket Play
Teams will be seeded in a bracket based on the pool play results. Each division will have its own bracket. Seeding will be calculated by each team's win/loss ration, head-to-head results and point differential. Bracket play will be single elimination, but teams that lose in the first two rounds of the bracket will have the option of playing in a consolation bracket (each team is guaranteed at least two bracket matches).

Prizes
Top teams in each division will receive trophies as well as an assortment of Spikeball™ gear. There are also cash prizes for the highest Women's and Open divisions.
Points
In 2019 there will be two distinct points systems. The Advanced system will track points earned at independent tournaments and in the advanced division of sanctioned Spikeball tournaments. The Premier system will track points earned at sanctioned events in the Premier and Women’s division only.

FAQs

How many people can I have on my team?
All the teams are composed of just two players to make it fair when endurance becomes a factor in the later rounds.
 
Can I play in multiple divisions?
Due to the format of the tournament, you may only play in one division per day.
 
I'm new to Spikeball is this event for me?
Absolutely! We have divisions for every type of Spikeball™ whether you're one of the elite teams in the nation or just starting out in the sport.
 
What is your refund policy?
Baller membership fees are non-refundable. Event registration fees can be refunded as long as requests are made in writing at least 5 business days prior to the event. After that time, event registration fees will not be refunded for any circumstance. To request a refund, contact tournaments@spikeball.com.
