First Ever SRA Coed Nationals This Saturday at Hollywood Beach, Florida

Although the 2018 roundnet season ended for some last month at 2018 Spikeball Roundnet Nationals in Santa Monica, a group of players still have one more challenge ahead. Over the course of 2018, four Tour Stops and the four Grand Slams hosted Coed Divisions on Sunday. After a competitive season of coed play, the first ever SRA Coed National Champion will be crowned this Saturday at Hollywood Beach in Florida. The 32-team field will be split into a 13-team Advanced Division and 19-team Intermediate Division.  Looking back at the eight coed tournaments this year, one team stood out: Dilly Dalli. Wide Open Premier Division Has Two Clear Favorites

Note: This article was written by Ezra Dantowitz   The Premier division at nationals is one of the most wide open fields in recent memory. Most of the teams haven’t played more than 1 SRA event together, and of the 34 teams, only 4 players (on 4 separate teams) made the podium in the highest division at an SRA event this year - Cole Model was the only player to do it more than once. SRA Pro Division Power Rankings

This is the latest edition of the Open Power Rankings for the 2018 season, this time with only Pro Division teams. The list was formed by a panel of 12 individuals, spanning all regions, who discuss the top contenders and then vote on the contenders using this prompt: “If these 16 teams played in 100 tournaments tomorrow, who on average would place the best?”. Panelists then rated teams on a scale of 1-10, with the best team on the contender list given a “10” and the worst given a “1”. East and Midwest Regionals Preview

Last weekend, top West and Southeast roundnet players headed to Santa Monica and Atlanta to compete in their respective SRA Regional Championships. This weekend, it is the East and Midwest’s time to battle. In the West, Wabi Sabi and Point Loma secured Pro Division bids with their expected top 2 finishes. The Southeast was a wilder affair, with Chubby Bunny (Harding Brumby and Troy Mauk) upsetting Easily Dug in the Grand Finals to take first place and earn themselves a spot in the Pro Division. As Easily Dug is not heading to Nationals, the Southeast's second Pro Division bid went to third-place finisher Tetelestai.
