Pool Play Seeding
  • The idea here is to simplify the depreciation and make up for the missed 2020 season. Points would no longer be depreciated within the current season. Points from a previous season would be worth 25% of their value in the following season. Points last for one season after they are earned (with the exception of 2019 points lasting 2 seasons due to Covid cancellations). For example points earned in the 2021 season would be worth 25% in 2022 season.
    • Individual players receive 50% of the team points
    • Seeding takes the sum of top 3 individual points from 2019 season (non-depreciated divided by 4) or 2021 points non-depreciated.

Points
  • The points are used to track the seedings for Pro/Premier and Women’s divisions.
    • At least 8 teams must be registered for a division to be eligible for points at an event.
      • Women's Advanced + Intermediate will be combined if either have less than 8 teams.
    • When T-5, T-7 etc., base points will be the average (ie T-5 is the average of 5-8 points = 50)
    • Sanctioned Independent Events award 25% of points to each ranking.

Strength Multiplier for Tour Series

Tournaments have varying degrees of difficulty based on the teams that participate. To make our rankings more accurate we have a strength multiplier. In 2020, we've added more tiers to the strength multiplier and have included fractional multipliers. These additions allow the multiplier to be more responsive to the strength of the field and means the points more accurately reflect the difficulty of the competition. The strength multiplier is determined by looking at the percentage of total ranking points compared to the maximum amount of points.

Premier: We compare the top 3 points of the top 32 players in the highest division to the top 3 finishes of the top 32 players overall. (If there are fewer than 16 teams we look at the points of all players in the highest division.)

Women's: We compare the top 3 points of the top 10 players in the highest division to the top 3 finishes of the top 10 players overall.

Top 3 points follows: 2019 at 25% non-depreciated, 2021 at 100% non-depreciated

Total Possible Points Multiplier
90 - 100% 1.6
89.99 - 80% 1.5
79.99 - 70% 1.4
69.99 - 60% 1.3
59.99 - 50% 1.2
49.99 - 40% 1.1
39.99 - 30% 1
29.99 - 20% 0.75
19.99 - 10% 0.5
9.99 - 5% 0.25
4.99 - 0% 0

2nd - $350
3rd - $175
17 - 24 Teams

2nd - $250
3rd - $125

3rd - $200

If there are not 8 women's teams at an event, typically it would just mean there is no prize money. Now, we'll carry it over to the next event. Example - At event one, 4 women's teams sign up. Since it isn't enough to run a women's division we let them choose another division or get a refund. There are no women's prizes at event one since there is no women's division.

At event two, 10 women's teams sign up (5 advanced, 5 intermediate). Since there aren't enough to run separate divisions, we combine the women's division. With 10 teams it falls into the first tier of prizes and it will also receive the prizes from event one.

Event Two Prizes:
1st - $600
2nd - $300
3rd - $150
